I was always driven by my internal compass that was saying "do things that you believe are right just." don't worry that you feel at the beginning some deficiencies but be yourself and that was paying off.
We are all unique and we all define own way, we can be inspired by someone, but it is entirely up to us how we will shape our decisions, but what paid well for me in the past was always stay yourself. Stay yourself have sufficient self-confidence based on knowledge, based on openness, be always open to new ideas and never tempt to think that you are right.
Also don't be afraid of making mistakes, because mistakes are natural, but is more important than making mistakes is learn from them.
I would really call for being very open-minded, active, being engaged and not to let things just running but trying to influence them for better.
